dnnqa's Issues

User profile mode

On the settings of the module there's code checking for the module being on the user profile page. Don't know what it was supposed to do since it does nothing at the moment.

View History

Provide a view that shows the full history of an item with the changes made to each part.
Ideally this should include an side-by-side comparison of the changes.

Review permissions

Verify all module permissions are working as expected. I think I've seen some inconsistencies in some parts.

Track edit history

When editing a question/answer/comment, the edit should maintain a history of previous values and also force to enter a comment for the edit.

Promote to answer

Some people post valid answers as comments, and there's currently no way to fix this.
There should be an option that would allow a user (with specific permissions) to convert the comment to an answer.

Any release to work with DNN 8?

I see the DNN Xchange and this module however I am not sure any are working or what all the fixes are without chasing them all down to make it work with DNN 8.

Is there a release to this anywhere that works?

Convert answer to comment

Some people post comments as answers, and there's currently no way to fix this.
In most of the cases these are not valid answers but should just be considered clarifications to the question, or the person is asking more information,...
There should be an option that would allow a user (with specific permissions) to convert the answer to a comment.

Question approval

This is not working in current version since it's harcoded in the module that all questions are approved by default.
See file AskQuestionFresenter.cs line 307

Configuration settings implemented at portal level

Most of the configuration settings are portal based: are only setup once per portal.
This limits the reuse of the module in different scenarios in the same portal for different groups of questions.

UI

Review the current UI and make it more clear.
Some possible changes:

  • add a separator line after the top summary to separte from the list of answers
  • separators between anwers and comments are not very clear
  • make better use of editing space
  • comments should be less important

SEO

The module uses the DNN panel control for the comments section. This is based on an H2 which does not make any sense with regards to SEO.
Headers (h1, h2, h3, ...) should be applied where it makes sense.
Review also other possible enhancements (use of meta tags, ...)
