gfg-events-page's Introduction

READ BEFORE STARTING

There are a few things different in NextJS to keep in mind before starting.

  1. All the CSS file imports should be done only in the _app.js file and nowhere else.

  2. Just like in React, export the components and add them in the index.js file. The Navbar file has already been added so use it as an example.

  3. The SVG dependencies have been added. So if you get the following error: You may need an appropriate loader to handle this file type. Feel free to contact us. Though the dependencies have been added and this error should not come, still if it does, feel free to ask us.

  4. Thats about it, fork the repo, clone it on your local machine and start working.

How to start with NextJS

  1. After cloning the repo, run npm install next react react-dom
  2. to start the dev server, either run npx next dev or npm run dev. Both work just fine.
  3. Your local development server should be up and running at localhost:3000.

This is a Next.js project bootstrapped with create-next-app.

Getting Started

First, run the development server:

npm run dev
# or
yarn dev

Open http://localhost:3000 with your browser to see the result.

You can start editing the page by modifying pages/index.js. The page auto-updates as you edit the file.

API routes can be accessed on http://localhost:3000/api/hello. This endpoint can be edited in pages/api/hello.js.

The pages/api directory is mapped to /api/*. Files in this directory are treated as API routes instead of React pages.
