This can be a simple as calling an mplayer process or as complex as a multifrontend graphical music player.

Add support for mp3

• Find and add an id3 library
• Add tagger to file.c
• Add support for tag translation since id3 is lame
• Better support for translating TXXX tags

Offer an option to define a database structure that is suitable for your database.
Currently the database is sorted on file structure but a shadow database could be maintained that is sorted on user specified tags.
e.g. artist - year - album

Tags should be an option and also alphabetical, e.g. the first letter of the artist tag.

For now the following things need to be done to close this:

• Convert the linked list db to a sorted array db
• Free the db's
• Fix memory leak in freeing
• Serialize the shadow db
• Search in the shadow db instead of the normal db

Future improvements:

• Incremental updates instead of a full rescan

Interactive browsing of the library in which you can select a set of songs. Maybe to send to a player

This will be as easy as flac.

• Opus

A lot is not freed if you update forced followed by a regular update...

use wchar in the tag fields and check encoding when reading in tags.

It would be interesting to allow mysql/sqlite backends as well.

This allows for removing support for some files.
Maybe we'll use autotools. However, those tools are arcane.
