dracor-metrics's Issues

Miscalculated network values for some plays

I noticed this when analysing the current metadata file for GerDraCor (https://dracor.org/api/corpus/ger/metadata).

Two plays have a miscalculated degree (when this value should always be between 0 and 1), plus other network-related miscaculations, so this all seems connected:

miscalculated-density

The two erroneous plays are:

It is unclear why, how and since when these miscalculations occurred and if they can be fixed by a mere recalculation.

Interestingly, calculations as shown on the website (when clicking the above links) seem okay (0.43 for "Coriolan" and 0.57 for "Der alte Bürger-Capitain").

Reimplement metrics service in python

The metrics service currently relies on JSNetworkX which is an incomplete port of the NetworkX Python library that hasn't been updated since 2015. We should port our metrics service to Python in order to take advantage of the full features and improvements of NetworkX.

Add number of Wikipedia sitelinks to metadata.csv

Using the Wikidata-API, we could collect the number of sitelinks to different language versions of an article per play (the idea is to gain some relevance/representativeness measure per play). The new tab could be called wikipediaSitelinks.

Since only sitelinks to Wikipedia, not to other projects like Wikiquote, etc., shall be counted, results likely have to be filtered, see here.

One remaining question will be how and when to update these values. Monthly cron job? Or is there a better way?

There is no license in this repository.

Should dracor-metrics be MIT as well?
