travel's Issues

The Techno Labyrinth

My friend's little sister recommended I do this while in Berlin. Lean into the sketchiness.

"WEDNESDAY - FRIDAY

between 6pm and 10pm.. the labyrinth.

go to treptower park station. cross the bridge. then cross the street, on the right side, and you'll see a bar called salon. (alt stralau 70... it's also the first floor of this amazing club "salon zur wilden renate"). go in, find someone who seems like they work there, say you want to do "the labyrinth." ten euros. i can't say anything else, but you've gotta do it."

Thinking about going Thursday. Anyone want to do it with me?

The Hobbit

It comes out December 13. 3D!

Was thinking about finding an afternoon session on a weekend and timing it for Green Door happy hour. πŸ˜‰

Beer Pong at 6WunderKinder on Friday

The guys at 6WunderKinder have invited all of the GitHubbers and friends to drink their beer on Friday starting at 4:30-5:00pm.

You can πŸ‘ if you're in, but they've already okayed the lot.

Funconf

/cc @DylanFM @nrrrdcore @pat

Still wanting to do Scotland, Northern Ireland and Ireland before hitting up Funconf then possibly stick around Dublin for a day or two afterwards.

My farewell

... for Tim and Carla.

8th September. The Bird for dinner. Berghain or Watergate for party.

Japan, September

Hang around Sapporo during RubyKaigi, check out Hokkaido and then back for some fun in Tokyo?

I was thinking about getting the train from Tokyo to Sapporo and then flying back.

Slowlands

Berlin’s first whisky-only bar night

The crew behind Berlin’s succesful whisky event β€œTaste The Doom” is proud to announce their next endeavour, something above and beyond the call of duty to meet the massive demand for good whisky and slow, heavy and complex music. Thus they have initiated Berlin’s first whisky-only bar night, with a vast selection of hand-picked, top-notch Taste The Doom-approved Whiskies that will be accompanied by slow music in many shades. We’re stepping beyond the doom and will help you explore slowness in the form of electronic, experimental and perhaps even classical music, all marked with the notorious Taste The Doom-nodness factor and all while enjoying your favorite dram.

Slowlands will appear in different places and this first time it will take place at Fehrbellinerstrasse 6 (U2 Rosa-Luxemburg Platz) on 7th December 2012. Bottles are open from 9pm on until late.

Friday, July 13

Drinks from 20:30? I'm happy to go anywhere since we've mostly stuck around Mitte since arriving here.

@sr in Berlin

Yes, I just hijacked your travel repository.

Wed 31 Oct - Mon 5th Nov

  • Drumcode Total at Berghain on Saturday.
  • Go back to the Japanese place that does billion servings maybe? The head waitress would probably love to see me.
  • Couple of places recommended by Newsweek in a special "101 best places to eat in the world" edition (Aug 13):
    • Hot Spot. "Authentic Sichuan kitchen with charming service, spicy foods, and a great wine list".
    • Winbar Rutz. "At this elegant wine bar, Micheling-starred chef Marco Muller serves a straighforward menu using regional products. His food is paired with wines from sommelier Billy Wagner's 1,500 bottle cellar."

Travel

  • One way Bussels/Berlin ✈️ on the 31th in the PM. (@codenamejac and @lstoll leave Brussels at 2PM). Arrive early enough to get dinner and stuff
  • One way Berlin/Amsterdam πŸš† on the 5th. Have to leave early-ish (train ride takes about 5 hours)

Lodging

Soho House? AirBNB? Need to research this a bit.

Austria

Evening of the 7th to morning of the 12th.

Summer Grillin'!

In the hope that we acquire a grill today and I spend the afternoon like Homer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OBBFzerJ1Ss), albeit in a successful manner, then there shall be grilling tomorrow. BYO food and drinks. We'll provide staples.

With the possibility of showers, let's say 18:30.

Potsdam

Friday September 7.

We can head down on the S-Bahn or RG and tour around. Depending on my knee (it's been a bit screwy over the weekend) we should be good for touring around on bicycles.
