User story: I want to input a region and find out all species of the region

The mobile UI was a good first step. But there are following issues

• Images are stretched inside the image carousel/slider
• The carousel/slider doesn't work as slick (as the react-swipable-views example in MUI docs)
• Make the bird card collapsible
• Make the card title link to ebird species page

I may not know the exact family always.

Like in ebird taxonomy database, flycatchers are broken down into multiple families -

• old world flycatchers
• monarch flycatchers
• fairy flycatchers
  etc.

In the UI this is not a problem, because I usually use autocomplete (and substring search works there). But there can be a first-class API support to perform this substring search.

Given a specific species (from auto complete, as species common name varies and scientific names are not always known), show the relevant family name.

Add CI for -

• Build
• Test
• Deploy

We should update the URLs when a search is performed. So that searches are shareable.
Something like birdism.example.com/search?family=abc&region=xyz

Right now there is only access logs.

Needs application logs as well

Currently the region name sometimes can be confusing. For example, Punjab is both in India and Pakistan. Currently there is no way to disambiguate. Sometimes its even helpful to see what kind of region it is.

Proposal:

• indicate the type of region beside the name (like country, sub-national-1 (state/province/county etc.), sub-national-2 (district/city etc.))
• if its a sub-national-1/2 region, name the country beside it (e.g. - Punjab (India, sub-national-1))

create benchmarks for benchmarking against database and cache of list of families, list of regions etc.
