Hi.
I hope this is the right place for this, and if not then I apologize in advance.
I would love if this plugin could work while I have MAKE.md activated as well. As it is right now, at least for me, I can select the color for a file or folder, but unless I disable MAKE.md I can't see any form of color-coding.
Thank you so much in advance.

How can we do what his plugin does but to multiple files by selecting them at once or using regex
Hi!
I installed your plugin on my iPhone recently and noticed that “color background” and “cascade color” aren’t working. If I switch back to color just titles it works ( but not cascade). I tried switching on and off some other plugins and themes but it didn’t have any affect.
I’ve been using it on my iPad and everything worked perfectly.
Hope you can fix it, I really miss those functions, they are very useful.
My iOS version is 16.1.2 (iPhone SE)
Obsidian version 1.6.5 (147)
For clarification:
Love this plugin otherwise
When applying a color style to indented (1 tab) text in a file I noticed the text shifts to the left. This pulls the text out of alignment with the text above which has no color style applied.

Either allowing to change either separately or to create a "named color slot" that has both text and background color associated
It's difficult to find a single color that looks good in both Light and Dark mode. Opting for a middle ground often results in it appearing unattractive in either mode. Ideally, use basic white and black colors with slight adjustments, similar to how Background mode currently operates.
Great plugin, however i thing two features are missing:
Hi.
I would love an option for an hotkey to colorize the currrent file. Or better yet for colors to be inherited from the folder they're in.
thank you so much in advance.
I would love it if you add a hotkey shortcut to coloring a file name like "ctrl + alt + c" to bring up the file color plugin window for current file selected.
Can you make it work for the bookmarks tab now too?
This tab used to be the starred tab but recent obsidian changed it to bookmarks. The same file has no right click context menu and doesn't change color inside the bookmarks list.
Something have been changed with the recent update of Obsidian.
File color plugin is still shown in context menus and the color selection dialog remembers the color selected for a file/folder. But the color is not applied to file/folder names.

Could you consider providing a "Import from text file" option, something like this format, space separated, one colour per line?:
#ffffff Black
#ff0000 Red
#0000ff Blue
#00ff00 Green
... etc
I think that for many power users it would be easier than working through the UX, trying to guess at colours using the sliders. You could prepare a list beforehand based on the umpteen colour palette sites and then simply import it when ready.
Plus it would allow you to keep a back-up of the colours you use or even share them with others.
Export into the same format would be the icing on the cake... but not as vital!
hi, this plugin is quite useful. May I translate to Chinese and submit to you? So as to introduce this to more people. If convenient could you pls add one shift button, which is to different language?? Tks.
File Color stopped working since my Obsidian app instance was updated to 1.2.7
I have already tried the following:
Does anyone have any advice on how to get the colors back?"
Thx
Obsidian Sync automatically attempts to synchronize plugin versions. 1.0.3 only works on desktop versions of Obsidian, while 1.0.2 only works on mobile.
This means Obsidian File Color can only work on either desktop or mobile in a synced vault, but not both.
Disabling Sync for installed community plugins prevents this, but there is currently no way to disable sync for only a single plugin.
It'd be cool if sub-folders could inherit colors from their parent folders.
I have just updated Obsidian (or rather the auto-update did this for me) to version 1.2.1 and the File Color plugin is no longer working. None of my files are showing any colour (all files are just black) and if I go to apply a colour using the active plugin...nothing visibly happens.
It's a core plugin to store/load Obsidian layout. Currently after you load any stored workspace file colors will be lost.
I am really excited for this plugin because I hate maintaining a bunch of CSS snippets. I'd love to also be able to cover the background or the text (or perhaps both?). I think it would make sense to choose via style settings maybe?
feel free to close this if it's out of scope
Loading Workspaces (core plugin) removes assigned colours from files/folders
hi. Cool plugin.
Would be nice to be able to set the color based on a regex rule applied to the note's name.
i.e
all notes containing "-R-" in the file name would be blue
all notes containing "-N-" in the file name would be pink
...
Is it easily possible to include an option to automatically color the according nodes in the graph-view?
using ca0001 turns to f2d6d4 when used. is there a way to stop this?
When i have the cascading file colors option selected,
the selected file is unreadable and not using my general selected file color.
Would be nice to have a feature where it doesn't override the 'selected file' color.
Images below show the example.
The second image shows my 'selected file' color from the general theme.
Cheers
I am currently using obsidian sync service. I sync my vault wiith my PC (Windows 11) and my iPhone. I tried everything to get file-color plugin to properly sync my colors but it fails to sync some of the files' colors. My settings for obsidian sync allows plugins to sync too.
