pokelog

(formerly pokediary) A simple web diary run from a Docker linux container. Currently in development.

To build:

git clone https://github.com/electrachong/pokelog.git
cd Dockerfiles
docker build -t electrachong/pokediary:dev .

Run with docker run -i -t -p 5000:5000 electrachong/pokediary:dev.

Run python app.py and open 0.0.0.0:5000 in browser to see code in instance.

Back button feature

Since no templating is in place for file entries, it may be helpful to have a back button to reach the index after navigating to one of the entries.

Pokemon images are not randomly generated.

Currently Abracadabra is being used as a placeholder. For more whimsy, the pokemon icon that is generated should be random.

Possible features to be implemented

This is a laundry list of potential features and unresolved questions.

• edit / delete functionality
• should users be able to specify path to save files in? <-- could be command prompt
• WYSIWYG editor

Open to additions and suggestions.

Should input be sanitized?

Though pokelog is meant for personal use, it's technically possible to write javascript in a form or leave open html tags which improperly interferes with the page behavior.

IOError: Broken pipe

This seems to happen occasionally, which is not ideal and requires troubleshooting.

Timestamp is not generated for filecreation.

For better reference, a timestamp should be generated when the file is created and included in the table.
