query regarding use of Windows 7.

Hello all
I have just ordered a blueboard which should reach me in the next 2 days. It
did not strike me at first but now i am having concerns regarding my OS. I have
started using windows 7 from last month. Will this cause any problem while
installing programs and other stuff like USB drivers for the blueboard? Or
create errors while building the code? Previously i used to work on WinXP SP2,
but now i have got a laptop with Windows 7.

Thank you in advance
Regards
Mayuresh

global variable not getting updated in interupt service routine

I was trying to increment a global variable inside an interrupt service routine
but i found after returning from interrupt service routine the global variable
was restored to previous value .
I tried declaring the global variable as volatile but it is not giving any
effect.

I am using code sourcery tool chain for compiling the code.

Inconsistencies in filename casing in BB source code

*** What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Use *nix environment
2. Go to Sources/GCC
3. Run "make"

*** What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected: code compiles without errors.
Current: lots of errors related with not found files (names are correct but
letter casing differs).

*** What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Operating system: Linux Ubuntu 10.04, GCC (ARM) 4.4.4.

*** Please provide any additional information below.
Proposed fix: make all files have the same name across whole package.

Additional dokumentation, Drawing , port numbers etc.

Hi are ther other that are missing :

1) drawing with all the Jumpers _ so you do not have to read on the board
itself.

2) a list of ports and memory areas, I know it is in the 2148 ARM manual but it
is 100+ pages.

3) a description on how to write on the display, and how to make sound and how
to use I/O pins,

I know it is all in in the Arm manual, but if ayone has made this I'd be happy
to get a copy :-) to [email protected]

if not I may make it

RTOS for blueboard LPC2148

Can any linux based rtos (or linux kernel)be ported to LPC2148 blueboard or is
it that it can only be ported to ARM9 boards (I am specific about Linux based
RTOS, cos i know some RTOS like uC/OS, eCOS can be ported). If yes, what are
the requirements? What are the readily available RTOS that can be ported to
LPC2148 board. Can OSEK be ported to this board?

Thank you

Max sound quality with onboard DAC

Hi there,

which is the max. quality for the LPC2148, 44khz?, 32khz?, 22khz?. How
about external RC-Filter? Which parameters do I have to change in the
source code w/o RTOS? Thanks in advance.

Inconsistency in I2C based eeprom write operation

It has been observed on few boards that the write operation on the AT24C256
(256kB Atmel Flash) is inconsistent. The read-operation seems to work fine.
The exact technical explanation for this behavior is still not known. We
are working on a solution for this issue and are hopeful that we will be
able to resolve it as early and possible and also suggest some work around
for the existing customers.

It has now been documented in the UserManualV1.2 for the Blueboard, while
we continue to look into this issue, it would be really nice if someone in
the group with sufficient I2C experience throws some light in this matter.

Problem details and other observations:

1. We have been using i2c_master_read(), function to check the presence of
I2C eeprom. The theory is that if this function returns '1', then it
implies that the eeprom is detected.

Observations:
-------------
When the SLAVE address is changed in the firmware; the i2c_master_read()
function returns error; i.e. if the address is changed from 0xA0 to 0xB0
the function returns error.

2. A proper test for I2C eeprom would be to write a known set of data and
then read and confirm if the data matches. This test seems to fail of few
random boards.

3. On some boards the read/write operation works fine.

4. Some observations have led us to conclude that the Atmel part might have
been faulty; but its not very conclusive.

5. The I2C line pull ups are 2.2K, changing them to 10K has had no positive
impact.

6. The voltages measured across all the pins on the eeprom seem to be fine.

DMX512 reception using LPC2148 Blueboard

I am trying to set up a DMX-512 receiver using the LPC2148 Blueboard. I am
using the application note AN10717 (http://www.nxp.com/documents/applicatio ...
N10717.pdf or see the attachment) from NXP as reference. In this AN, the
receiver is based on LPC2103. I ported the code to the LPC2148 (hardly needed
any changes as all the SFR names are the same, I just changed the channel
number which is to be outputed). Also I made the schematics as shown in the AN.

But when I connect a DMX-512 transmitter (4 channel lighting control deck) to
the receiver, it doesnt function as expected. Later I modified the code in the
main loop so that the channel values received are sent to the PC through the
other UART and I observed them on TeraTerm terminal. I saw that the channel I
am trying to output shows random spurious values. It ranges from 128(min) and
188(max). It should be ideally 0(min) to 255(max) according to the protocol.

I dont understand what could be the problem? Is it a hardware problem (on the
RS485 chip side)? Or is it a software fault?

Please help me this is URGENT. I need to get it started in 1 week. Thanks in
Advance.

Regards,
Mayuresh

but I get a "failed to autobaud" in FlashMagic

If not I guess I have to dig up a rs232 cable to connect to com1. A lot of
PCs dont have serial ports anymore.
