A ctypes based Python wrapper for libutp.

pyutp

This is a ctypes based wrapper around libutp. You need libutp shared object available in such a place known to the system dynamic library loader. Something like this will do the trick on Ubuntu:

$ git clone https://github.com/bittorrent/libutp
$ cd libutp
$ make
$ sudo install libutp.so /usr/lib/

After this, you can use pyutp almost the same way you can use libutp except the callback functions receive their relevant arguments instead of one monolithic struct. All in all though, this is currently a very thin Python wrapper around most of libutp. I'm hoping to make it more complete and more Pythonic soon.

pyutp's Issues

Add UTP error codes.

The following error codes are defined in utp.h and can be passed to error callbacks:

• UTP_ECONNREFUSED
• UTP_ECONNRESET
• UTP_ETIMEDOUT

ucat.py cannot detect that no one is listening at an address.

libutp's ucat gives an error message when trying to connect to an endpoint where no one is listening. Our ucat happily keeps trying.

Add `utp_get_stats` function.

Wrap the utp_get_stats function. This class should return an object of a new class UtpStats which contains the fields in the utp_socket_stats struct.
