This tool is designed with developers in mind, catering to both those who need to quickly set up VM images for their projects and those who wish to automate the VM setup process.
Empress Virtual Machine Builder is built leveraging:
- Install VirtualBox
- Download and place the Ubuntu base image,
base.ova
in the current directory. - Download the Packer binary and place it in the current directory.
To build a VM image, follow these simple steps:
- To build a new Production VM, run:
./packer build vm.json
- To build a new Development VM and a Vagrant Box, run:
./packer build vm-develop.json
