energized_linux's Issues

Make script POSIX compliant

Currently, this script can only be executed on bash and not on other shells.
For example, when I on Ubuntu 20.04 call

sudo sh energized.sh

everything looks horrible (i.e. the -e of echo will be printed for each command), and the program cannot be used at all (when I try to select any of the packs, it always returns instead of accepting, even for valid inputs), sometimes the shell even complains that it does not know what [[ should be.
This is because Ubuntu does not have bash as default anymore (/usr/bin/sh is a symbolic link to dash).
It would be much more user friendly if this script would not only work on bash, but on any shell instead.
This can be achieved by making it POSIX compliant.

sudo yell post patch apply

Starting the script as root works fine, so does the patch (Blu in my case)

Running the sudo command past this step (like sudo su as an example) will raise this error:
sudo: unable to resolve host hostname: Name or service not known
with hostname being your computer hostname.

To fix this you have to manually add
127.0.0.1 hostname
in the /etc/resolv.conf

I am running debian 10, sudo 1.8.27-1+deb10u3

I may take a look to the script soon

Flaky Script Update Request

Energized Protection really works well on the Android devices I own. It works well on Linux, mostly. Recently I have only been able to download the following with the "energized.sh" script:
Spark, Blu and Blu Go. When I click the other choices, it does not download anything, but it looks like it is trying. Maybe the links are old. I am using Peppermint 10 OS (Ubuntu 18.04).
