Goose Chat - Retro Terminal

A retro-styled terminal interface for the Goose CLI tool.

Running with Docker

The easiest way to run Goose Chat is with Docker Compose:

# Build and start the container
docker-compose up -d

# View logs
docker-compose logs -f

# Stop the container
docker-compose down

The application will be available at http://localhost:3000.

Running Locally

Prerequisites

  • Node.js 18 or later
  • Goose CLI installed and accessible in your PATH

Installation

# Install dependencies
npm install

# Start development server
npm run dev

# Build for production
npm run build

# Start production server
npm run start

Environment Variables

You can customize the behavior with these environment variables:

  • GOOSE_PATH: Path to the Goose binary (defaults to searching in PATH)
  • PORT: Port number to run the server on (defaults to 3000)

Customizing the UI

The user interface uses a retro terminal style by default. You can customize the appearance by modifying the CSS variables in app/globals.css.
