Question about Jekyll

Eric,
Thanks for your detailed blog post about setting up your site/blog with Jekyll. I am in the process of following the steps and have installed ruby, jekyll and have it running locally in my username.github.io file.

My question is, I noticed immediately that Jekyll creates a _site folder that copies all of the contents of my master username.github.io folder. Your github page, however, does not have that. Am I on the right track here or is something fishy about it?

files in _post directoy are marked as Markdown but seem to be processed HTML

Hi Eric,

I came across your project and I am trying to set it up on http://tooh.github.io.

I have some trouble making things work especially with the comments system.
It seems in your example there is code that I cannot find in a template.

I am looking at the markdown posts as an example but it seems as if they are not markdown format so it is hard for me to search for the bits to change. Can you offer some existence.

Peter

test .. thanks, your post has been helpful to me.

Hi

Hello,

Nice to read your post! Am, too, planning to explore jekyll.
Just curious to know -- is this feedback option similar to leaving a comment in a blog post? And is this open to all users or only to the GitHub users?

Thanks.

Blog

Hi I would like to know what have you used to create a blog on Github.io pages???

Woah

Too cool ๐Ÿ‘

Build a individual blog

hello, I want to build a blog like yours, could you give me some guide or some tutorials.
thanks

Why would anyone reuse doc.css?

That's literally the css file used for display documentation about bootstrap. I would warn people not to reuse that file for their own projects, rather than suggesting it might be something someone would do.

Markdown?

There is something I don't really understand regarding your blog. The files in the _posts directory should contain markdown posts, isn't it? But they are all full of HTML markup ...
