evemu_crucible's Issues

Linux Build - Issue with mysql.sock

I have been building and running game servers for many years. I am usually pretty good at wading through poor or incomplete procedures and can usually get things to work. In this case I am pretty stuck. Several years ago, i was able to get everything to work when all you could do was to go out and look at rocks, so this isn't new stuff to me...

I'm using the pages here for basic instructions to get everything built:
https://github.com/evemuproject/evemu_server/wiki/Linux-Setup
mysql setup, quick ubuuntu build, etc...

This VM uses Debian 9. I have successfully compiled everything, build and make are complete and the appropriate files put in their folders. I used mariadb 10.3 for the database as installing mysql5.5 from the tarball never worked successfully. I have the database loaded with all the sources.

I run the binary and get this message:
Unable to connect to the database: #2002: Can't connect to the local MYSQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2)

I have even created a symlink to the mysql.sock file, but the error still happens. Is the mysql.sock location hardcoded somewhere in the evemu code, or is there some kind of parameter in the eve-server.xml file?

Looking forward to getting a server running...
