Build Setup

# install dependencies
$ npm install

# serve with hot reload at localhost:3000
$ npm run dev

# build for production and launch server
$ npm run build
$ npm run start

# generate static project
$ npm run generate

Deploy

Create netlify account, hook up to Github repo/master branch

Install netlify cli: npm install -g netlify-cli

• netlify login
• netlify link
• netlify addons:create fauna
• netlify addons:auth fauna Create the endorsements collection:
• npm run bootstrap

To deploy, either push to the master branch, or use:

• npm run generate && netlify deploy

Point back to github

The website does not contain a link back to its source. Would be good, so I can find where to submit more issues ;)

Add checkbox with link to privacy statement to personal endorsement form

Add the following text with the checkbox to the personal endorsement form. It should not be possible to endorse without checking the box.

By entering your name and email address, you enable the Netherlands eScience Center to use them according to the privacy statement.

rendering issue on Internet Explorer

The endorsement page does not render well in Internet Explorer. Specifically, the logos are scaled in a bad way and it's not possible to scroll to the bottom. See attached screenshot. This is a big deal because a lot of UMCs still use Internet Explorer and employees have no option to install any other web browser.

Update eScience center logo

The old logo is still on the endorsers page.

Current robots.txt disables all crawling by search engines. If we want the site to be indexable by google & co it needs to be set up.

Endorse requirements description

Should be added a small text on the endorsement page to describe the requirements to endorse and add organizations logos?

Change OG image

Slack picks this picture when sharing a link to https://fair-software.eu/. As discussed via email, we would like to change this image.

Perhaps the easiest is to replace this image for another one having the same text, but a different hand. If this is not possible, other suggestions are welcome.

@ctwhome -- you think you might be able to do this?

Navigation arrows on left and right side are not visible in Safari on macos

In Safari on Macos, the navigation arrows (triangles) near the upper left and upper right are not visible (their containing/background boxes are). See attached screenshot.
Hovering over the boxes also doesn't make them appear: the box simply changes its colour from green to black.

Cursor on website behaves funny

Not sure what causes this, but there's a bug on your website that causes my pointer to behave funny. I'm macos 10.14.6 (18G1012), Fireforx 70.0.1 (64-bit). I have not tested other browsers.

Wording around Codemeta

#4 states: "The CodeMeta standard ..."

However, @mkuzak pointed out CodeMeta is not a standard. Is it more correct to say "The CodeMeta specification..." ?

How do people feel about transferring this repo to github.com/fair-software

Not sure what it would take with respect to the netlify integration.

Also I'm not sure having an organization-agnostic repo is a benefit or a downside. Opinions welcome.

Try Matomo

It would be good to have some statistics on site visits, but perhaps using an Open Source and privacy friendly solution such as https://matomo.org/ might be a good alternative to Google Analytics.

Recommendation text does not appear on click

If I go to https://fair-software.eu/recommendations/license and to click the #2 Add a license heading nothing happens. I expected to see the recommendation text like the why and help me choose sections.
To get to see the recommendation text I have to click well below the heading (where the cursor is not a pointer).

PS. In console I see ReferenceError: Expo is not define errors.
