What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. tap, _ := tuntap.Open("tap%d", tuntap.DevTap)
2. fmt.Println([]byte(tap.Name()))

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected output is [[116 97 112 48]].  Instead, I see [[116 97 112 48 0 0 0 0 0 
0 0 0 0 0 0 0]].

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Using the latest master on Arch Linux.

Please provide any additional information below.

Workaround:

strings.TrimRight(tap.Name(), "\x00")
