janoarg's Introduction

JANOARG

(Just Another Normal, Ordinary, Acceptable Rhythm Game)
A rhythm game where everything can move.

Looks, name, and chart not final

How to Make Charts

  • Download the Standalone Chartmaker (in releases)
  • Unpack .zip and run Chartmaker.exe
  • Have fun!

Note: The Standalone Chartmaker has less features than the Unity Editor-based Chartmaker and is in the pre-release stage, however the standalone version does not require Unity Editor to run. If you can run Unity and open this project I recommend using the Unity Editor version for the time being.

How to Contribute Code

You'll need the following:

  • A personal computer (Windows/Mac/Linux, the editor isn't available on mobile, sorry)
  • A copy of Unity Editor (preferably version 2022.2.2)
  • A code editor (any text editor should work)
  • A copy of Git/Github Desktop is recommended so you can update/submit code easily

Instructions

  • Clone the project (by downloading it to your computer or by running the following command in the cmd/terminal: git clone https://github.com/ducdat0507/JANOARG.git).
  • Open the root folder using the Unity Editor.
  • Make edits to the code (of course)
  • Send the project (by making a pull request)

Contact

We have a Discord server for discussions/official songlist submission (guys i just need one song so i can make a proper preview video)

janoarg's Issues

Android 14

You have to enable the compatibility on Android 14 I think.

I have Google pixel 7a

Make smaller windowed tabs movable in chartmaker.

Just as the title says; It would be really useful if smaller windowed tabs (such as Chartmaker Manual or New Chart) could be moved on the other sides of screen and such. So that they don't obstruct stuff that you are working with.

So Many Timeline Suggestions

These suggestions mainly concern the timeline, which is a bit frustrating to use, but hopefully, these conveniences could be added.

  • When Clicking on the timeline with the note selected, adding the note will make it go back to the cursor. (I keep on misplacing notes)
  • Could drag notes position in the timeline
  • Right-click to delete
  • Have hold move dynamically, like the lanes.
  • Shift left-click on the note to select it.
  • Could zoom in and zoom out on the timeline
  • Could also use the preview as a way to add notes while having a grid (kind of like arcaea)
  • Add cos and tan and have a custom equation for how the line sways.
  • Could drag the lane notes on the left to move it

Storyboarding a group that is a parent of some other groups doesn't affect the child groups, only the lanes in the group

For example, I have group 9 that contains 2 lanes, group 10 that contains another 2 lanes, and group 11 that contains another 2 lanes and is the parent of group 9 and 10. When I try to rotate group 11, the lanes inside rotate as expected but the lanes inside group 9 and 10 are unaffected, so I had to instead copy the timestamps from group 10 to the other 2. Sounds like an unexpected thing to have happened soooo fix it if you can.
