foundation's Introduction

What is FinOps Open Cost & Usage Specification (FOCUS)?

The FOCUS Project will define and maintain a common, source-neutral, schema and related artifacts for cloud billing, cost, usage, and observability data with mappings to cloud service provider billing data and other common sources of cost and usage data. The specification of the common schema, mappings, metadata, associated reference implementations and use case descriptions will enable organizations to ingest and normalize cloud and related billing data in a way that is compatible with FinOps practices, KPIs and the FinOps Framework.

Project resources are provided by the FinOps Foundation Governing Board.

foundation's Issues

Capture feedback on Official Locations for Issue Activities and Discussions

In one of the task force meetings last week, @rileyjenk requested the FOCUS project to specify that all supporting documents and information supporting a proposed change be tracked within shared resources identified in an issue. Others on the TF3 call concurred that it can often be confusing if an issue references a supporting document not in a shared directory.

This issue captures that request and adds language to the group's operating procedures and guidelines to ensure that this requirement is an explicit guideline for the FOCUS effort.
