Flathub is the central place for building and hosting Flatpak builds.

Using the Flathub repository

To install applications that are hosted on Flathub, use the following:

flatpak remote-add flathub https://flathub.org/repo/flathub.flatpakrepo
flatpak install flathub org.gnome.Recipes

To install applications from the beta branch, use the following:

flatpak remote-add flathub-beta https://flathub.org/beta-repo/flathub-beta.flatpakrepo
flatpak install flathub-beta org.godotengine.Godot

Use more restrictive filesystem access

Ideally for an audiobook downloader, entire home directory isn't needed and users can add their own download directory with flatpak override if they wish. Only XDG Music (as that is the default on first run) and XDG Downloads (optionally as it is a common location) should be exposed by default in my opinion to tighten the sandbox.

Use xdg-dirs

My locale is de_DE, so the app created a folder called Music instead of using Musik. The app should follow the xdg spec for user directories:

See ~/.config/user-dirs.dirs and the specification.

First run: inform user about the media dir, before downloading

Just installed the app and it immediately started downloading to my Music folder. Which isn't ideal.

IMHO it would be better to present the user a choice at first run.

Maybe a wizard that ask for 4 things at once:

• user
• password
• auto-download (toggle)
• media folder (browse button)

(Maybe change the text of the browse button to "Choose location" or similar.

Cannot start the app

Just installed the app, and i cannot start it.

Log init failed: logger with name 'log' already exists```

No .desktop starter is created

I installed the app on Fedora 33. The OS is fully updated and flatpak is version 1.10.1.

With menulibre i checked if a starter was create, but couldn't find one. If a starter is created, but the executable is missing or similar issues it will be hidden in the menu/application listing.
