The support will be added in pylint 2.5, but it has not been released yet.

Mypy now supports pyproject.toml in python/mypy#10219 released with v0.900 (AFAIK, since the PR isn't marked with a milestone), FYI. Aside from pipenv, flake8 is the last listed tool not supporting pyproject.toml.

Also, the formatting between pylint and flake8 looks a little borked.

One tool to add in the Others category would be pre-commit, sadly this tool does not support pyproject.toml ( pre-commit/pre-commit#1165 )

I was reviewing the list of tools compatible with pyproject.toml and was wondering if there have been any updates in the last 5 months. Specifically, I think pipenv may not be compatible, at least when I did the latest update, it seemed to install correctly without giving any errors related to missing setup.cfg. Anyhoo, thanks for keeping this list; it’s very useful!

Support for configuring pytest via pyproject.toml was introduced in version 6.0: https://docs.pytest.org/en/stable/customize.html#pyproject-toml
