blink's Issues

adjust time of button press?

Hi,

Using PocketCHIP, the reset button is also the home button whereby a brief press brings you back to the desktop. If you use blink, you can no longer return to the desktop without closing your foreground window.

Is there a way to configure a time delay into blink? i.e. if i press the button do nothing but if I hold it for 2sec that means graceful shutdown?

Service file should have "forking", not "forked"

The service file produces a warning in syslog saying it doesn't recognize forks. It should be forking instead.

Jun 26 19:02:22 chip systemd[1]: [/etc/systemd/system/blink.service:6] Failed to parse service type, ignoring: forked

very fast blinking

I'm using now kernel 4.4
the new version of blink now is now blinking furiously fast ... like five per second

unary operator expected

Hi, i live your blink program. I want to report that i ecounter an unary operator expected from syslog.
Here:
Sep 6 09:26:05 chip blink.sh[363]: /usr/local/bin/blink.sh: line 169: [: 100: unary operator expected

Thanks

Consuming lots of CPU

I'm using blink for 1 day and have noticed it's using almost 100% CPU in my CHIP. When i stop the service it drops back to 2% (with 40% peek). Is there anything that can be done?
(Great job! it works very well, besides the CPU consumption)

Temperature monitor

Is that possible to add a temperature monitor, using the "axp209 --temperature" command? Something like "when temperature is over a limit it set a GPIO to high".

Some things you might want ...

We're using 'blink' on a custom ChipPro device (http://ainslies.net/?p=14307) so I modified it to meet our needs.

  • We don't have bash, so switched to /bin/sh
  • $1 is optional path to blink.cfg .. Should probably do real arg parsing.
  • we don't have "shutdown" but have "poweroff". Script detects and uses the correct one.
  • We want 'blink' to call a script when it's about to issue a shutdown so that we can do some house-cleaning (and send a message over the VHF to that effect).

Changes are on my fork: https://github.com/hpeyerl/blink

Take what you want or I can issue pull requests if you like.
