We are currently incompatible with mongoose v7 due to a changes on mongoose types indeed.

If possible, I would suggest to rollback to mongoose 6.

Otherwise, a solution using patch-package is still possible if the fix mentionned is enough to fully handle the new type definition.

Caused by:

var ObjectId = options.Mongoose.Types.ObjectId;
if (ObjectId.isValid(value) && ObjectId(value).toString() === value) {
    return ObjectId(value);
}

should be: new must be used to create ObjectId instance from ObjectId class:

var ObjectId = options.Mongoose.Types.ObjectId;
if (ObjectId.isValid(value) && new ObjectId(value).toString() === value) {
    return new ObjectId(value);
}
