doomcube-2's Issues

tdl#3++ improve the readme

id like to go over the readme again, and add some info to answer questions we are seeing a lot on the discord. it may be worthwhile to add a readme to some of the subfolders, to help explain their contents without bloating the main readme too much. we dont need to write a manual, but could do a bit better with helping guide people on what it takes to doom up.

tdl: create demi-doom/doom-lite files

There may be many people who see the sense of top mounted dc, but dont want to bother with the panels or extrusions. we could do a small set of files for them, to create a sort of doom lite. the biggest modeling job would be a set of lower corners to sit in place of the z drives. i already modeled a version of the swing out lcd mount that works in a top skirt. someone could just print new lower corners, a second set of skirts, and be darn near off to the races on a demi-doom conversion. such would be easy to wrap in full doomcube armor, if the person ever desired. it would be a pretty easy upgrade.

TDL #1 alter skirts to suit common screw lengths

to do list #1
the skirts currently require a washer to use common m3 screw sizes. we need to add a raised ring around each hole, or simply extrude the entire surface 1mm or so. its simple, but a lot of work with 3 sets of skirts and accessory panels.

tdl#2 Pull the scattered umbilical parts together and make sense of them

to do list#2
the umbilical bits are scattered and haphazard to figure out. i'd love to see one solution chosen, and get them all together and in the cad. some illustrations and maybe a few photos on the git to help people understand how to do it would clear up a lot of ambiguity there. it's partly my fault for mentioning it in the readme, but i think it makes a pretty sensible part of doomcube.

increase height of wire notch on corners

the wire notch to pass wires from the 4040 to the upper chamber is a bit conservatively sized. increasing it's height will offer a roomier space for overkill wires, or fat silicone insulated wires. needs done for both styles of top doom corners
