Hello.

Could you try this:

Click on main menu item: > Settings > Extra Settings

Then, check "No Z order handling". (see picture)
no_z

This "Z order handling" feature gives focus to a window when the mouse move on it.
Maybe there is a problem with this and your window manager.

By the way, in new commit, now "No Z order handling" is checked by default for new installation.

Huh, I cannot reproduce it.

Or maybe I understand wrong.

If you select "File >> New" then a sub-menu appear "Form, Program, Text file"
But in my Linux Mint 17 64 bit, all seems ok, even with other applications-running, no focus loosed.
