Add HMR

My thinking is that each content type can have a font awesome icon to indicate wether it is a guide, challenge, YouTube or medium.

Each result has a _index and _type field, these can be used to derive the content type

Name space conflicts

Importing component from npm results in a string being rendered. This is due to namespacing

Implement some form of look ahead/suggestions as a user types

Remove extract from results

remove global io from socket.io

Currently requires socket.io to be available globally

[FCC Beta] Required Improvements in Search functionality & its UX

@Bouncey I was playing with the search bar and found some glitches which need to be addressed. All issues related to search bar from freeCodeCamp repo are merged in this issue and it is frequently updated.

Functionality Issues

• Right-clicking on output search modal or on opening chrome dev tools the modal disappears. It should disappear only when clicked outside the modal.
• Searching a term multiple times consecutively doesn't show the results.
• If the searched term doesn't match any category, an appropriate message must be displayed.-[
• No search results are shown when characters are less than 3. (FCC issue #16791)

User Interface/UI/UX Issues

• The output search modal is overflowing i.e. it needs a scrollbar.
• The highlighting style of searched text needs to be changed.

• In night mode search results text are Illegible. (FCC issue #16787)

Beta: Search bar showing no results / not working

I opened an issue on the main repo - I was told to put it here I believe...

The issue seems to work like this:
I can search successfully as many times as I want until I switch pages.

For example: If I first search on the settings page, I can make searches just fine - then I close the search results - then I go to the map page and searching doesn't work.

Another example: if reload the base url - the map is open - I search there and it works - then close the search results - then I go to the settings page can't make searches.

It doesn't happen if I leave the search results open.

Results <ul> should not affect other elements

The Results <ul> should not cause surrounding elements to change.

Publish to npm

Filter results by content type

Maybe with the use of github-like filters type:challenge, type:youtube, type:guide

This will require coordination with github.com/freeCodeCamp/search for the backend

Handle no websocket in window

The end point freecodecamp.duckdns.org/search?q=${searchTerm} should be used
