Guide missing in ISS - Mir

Hello!
With all due respect, this wiki is great, but it's just not your BDB wiki. You seem to be the only person I've found that really knows how to assemble the Tantares craft accurately, but at least on the more detailed craft, like ISS or Mir modules, it seems you just attached graphs to the wiki pages, which, in my opinion, makes it a bit more confusing than it really is.
I'd appreciate if you could show how to assemble the ISS-Mir Zvezda and Zarya modules. I know this might sound a bit like "yo you lazy wake up and tell me how to do this bitch", but it isn't. I'm just a bit confused by this and am asking for help.

Vostok Build

image

In reality the Blok-A core stage tapers out from 2.15m at the base to 2.95m at its widest point then tapers back slightly to 2.66m. The equivalent scales in KSP are 1.34 > 1.84 > 1.66. Rounded to the nearest regular KSP sizes, that's roughly 1.25 > 1.875 > 1.5.

front_R7 Vostok_1

However, the default Tantares size for Vostok and Blok-E upper stage is 1.25. The rocket looks a little strange when tapered that much. A different approach is to put the whole upper stage and capsule in a fairing.

image

Alternatively, there is an optional rescale patch in GameData\TantaresLV\Patches\Soyuz_B9_Rescale (enabled by renaming .disabled to .cfg; note that B9 Partswitch and Module Manager are required). This adds switches to adjust the diameter to 1.5m at the top. There is a thrust plate, decoupler and RD-110A engine in the same size to match.

image

  • Size 1 is the standard, unmodified Tantares variant and while it fits the Vostok Blok-E upper stage and crew capsule, it tapers in more than in real life.
  • The optional 1.5m diameter is closest to real life proportions. It's the same diameter as the Soyuz capsules, so they need to sit inside a tapered fairing. Vostok capsule would need to be Tweakscaled up to fit.
  • Size 1.5 (1.875m diameter) is the standard, unmodified Tantares size for Soyuz rockets and Blok-I upper stage.

ISS

Two things, one I think is easy and the other may be pretty hard...

  1. EASY ONE: Please have a link in each of the two ISS articles linking between each other. Prevents the user from having to go to the KSP forums to find your signature on one of your posts to find the "other half" of the instructions.

  2. github.com dark mode compatibility (pictures with white backgrounds and black text have un-readable text in dark mode because black on black.... If there is a way to fix this that would be awesome for those of us who have big video walls or large monitors and are light sensitive.

Blok E, I, L Upper Stages?

Tantares only has RD-0110 so that can sub for all these upper stage engines

What tanks are used on:

  • Blok E (Vostok) - [Andromeda parts]
  • Blok I (Voskhod, Molniya & Soyuz-U)
  • Blok L (fourth stage for Molniya-M) uses S1-5400 engine (no in mod)

R-7 fins

All R-7 family rockets are shown with Canopus Basic Fin B, while building manual states that you need to use Canopus Basic Fin A.

N1 Update

Blok D and L3 are covered by a fairing terminating at the base of LOK. The whole upper stage including Blok-G and the L3 Complex is covered by a second, outer fairing and topped by the Launch Escape System.

Zenit

It is obvious that Zenit building guide does not match the picture.

Soyuz

Soyuz Spacecraft

The Soyuz spacecraft consists of three parts: a spheroid orbital module or habitation section, an aerodynamic reentry module and a cylindrical service

  • A/7K - Proposal for A-B-V (7K-9K-11K) circumlunar concept. EOR 7K CSM + 9K EDS + 11K tanker.
  • 7K-OK (Salyut page) - First gen; Salyut ferry. Bent solar panels and Igla docking system.
  • 7K-L1 "Zond" (Proton page) - lunar flybys. Orbital module replaced by support cone & Ae.
  • 7K-L3 LOK (N1 page) - moon landings mother ship.
  • 7K-OKS (aka 7KT-OK) - designed for station flights. Probe & drogue docking system. 3 crew; bad things happened.
  • 7K-T - Second gen ferry; no solar panels; 2 large whip Ae. Crew reduced to 2 to make room for enhanced safety & life support after OKS disaster.
  • 7K-TM - Apollo-Soyuz test project. Straight solar panels; APAS docking port.
  • 7K-VI "Zvezda"- Military Soyuz; forward docking for Almaz
  • T - Third gen transport derived from 7K-TM; 3 crew (with suits!); straight solar panels.
  • TM (also TMA / TMA-M) - Fourth gen (not to be confused with 7K-TM).
  • 7K-MS (Soyuz-FG LV) - antennae and thruster placement varies from TMA but otherwise similar.

Updated naming for LK-1

On the crew modules page, under LK-1, some of the part names are incorrect. I'm not sure if this is an error or if possibly a Tantares update changed the name?

  • Alnair LK1 " Maneskraper" Capsule should be Alnair 18-A " Avansert" Crew Capsule
  • LQ-SMC Decoupler I think should be Castor Size 1.5 Decoupler

More instruction

You should add building instructions for all the craft (especially the LK lander and the N1 payload/L3)

ISS Modules

After going through the wiki, I noticed that there isn't a section on the ISS modules Rassvet, Nauka or Poisk, and I was wondering if they could be added.

Edit: Just after looking at the other issues, I noticed that there are craft files for Poisk and Rassvet, but a section on how to make them in the wiki would still be appreciated.
