malibu-point-ha's Issues

Optimize Google Home with Home Assistant

  • Make use of entity_config instead domains
  • Add room assignments
  • Add comment to amnirana camera "not working"
  • Glances temperature sensors
  • Fix up Assistant routines/commands etc.

Refactor dir_list -> dir_merge_list

Currently "dir_list" is used too much in the home assistant config, "dir_merge_list" is more clear.
Renaming "malibu-point" to "includes" would also clear up the purpose of that directory.

Make Malibu-Point Public

  • Rename to Malibu-Point (-HA?)
  • Check for sensitive files
  • Documentation
  • Generate new service account + make it private

Move Home Assistant to new device

The server which runs Malibu Point Home Assistant right now is quite weak. We want to move it to a new device that has more processing power.

Preliminary Work: Backing Up

  • Copy Avahi Daemon config + dual network cards config on USB
  • Copy Home Assistant secrets.yaml + SERVICE_ACCOUNT.json on USB
  • Copy each individual raw lovelace view on panthera
  • Turn off devices (TV, SMAUG)

Install Procedure

  • Try and move hard drive without reinstall
  • Reinstall debian on laptop
  • Install docker, git
  • Set-up Home Assistant image
  • Take care of avahi/networking stuff
  • Copy secrets
  • Set-Up Tunnels

After Install: Configuration

  • Fix up permissions on secrets files
  • Enable dev_mode
  • Rename Tuya devices
  • UI Integrations -> See readme in Malibu Point
  • Regenerate long-term access tokens
  • Resynchronize google home
  • Add phone app
  • 2FA

Fix up automations

  • Move all automations to expected automations.yaml
  • Remove unused automations
  • Manually set-up new automations
    • Coming home at night
    • Leaving home
    • Coming home

New database server

It would be a good idea to get a solid dedicated database server that uses SSDs as storage.

Text-To-Speech

The TTS platform that is used throughout Home Assistant should be streamlined to be more similar to the voice used by google assistant.

S.M.A.U.G.

Set-up a central alarm system for the house that responds to various triggers such as motion detected and can take intelligent actions.

Google Keep Integration

There exist HACS Google Keep Integrations that could be integrated with the rest of Malibu Point. Both for lovelace as well as actual entities

Delijn Integration

There exists a Delijn (Flemish public transport system) integration, this could give some interesting capabilities to the rest of Malibu Point.

Add MariaDB to Home Assistant

In order to increase performance of the home assistant server, it'd be good to run the database with an actual database application instead of a file. The most suited option for this is MariaDB. This DBM can be run either locally or remotely.

Clean Install Malibu Point Home Assistant

I'm doing a clean install of the Malibu Point Home Assistant install on my personal hardware. This issue will track everything needed to be done in this context.

  • Remake user account
  • Set-up locations ("zones") in yaml
  • Remove SMAUG
  • HACS
    • Themes
    • Local Tuya
    • Favicon
    • Custom media player
    • Custom graph
  • Visual integrations
    • glances
    • Tuya cloud
    • Google cast
    • IPP
      • Reset CUPS on ailurus
    • MJPEG Camera
    • PI Power supply checker
    • Speedtest
    • UPnP/IGD
    • Docker updater tracker
  • Set up areas
    • Bedroom
    • Kitchen
    • Basement
    • Lounge
    • Hallway
    • Bathroom
    • Toilet
  • configuration.yaml
    • google assistant
    • remove old glances
    • remove old tuya
    • add US East to time & date
    • update twitch.yaml
    • remove taricha
    • temporarily disable motion detection of amnirana
    • remove glances thermostats (potentially)
    • remove camera from yaml
  • Mobile Apps
    • milvago
    • aquila
  • import old lovelace.yaml

Media Browser

The new media browser functionality introduced in Home Assistant v0.115 is cool!
Let's see what we can do with it!

Upgrading Docker

https://docs.docker.com/storage/volumes/

Potential Use Cases

  • amnirana motion detection files
  • caiman
  • some kind of local file system player

Amnirana update + SMAUG replacement

motion detection on/off

new switch in home assistant -> switch to on/off send rest command service

pivoting camera

new input_select in home assistant -> see GitHub project for REST endpoints.
input_select options probably hard coded.

motion detected

amnirana ftp -> procyon -> ginger action -> home assistant counter -> milvago notification
