This is a simple wordpress xml export to postgres importer.


Usage looks something like this:

./wordpress2sql.py --input wordpress_export.xml --dbname blogdb --dbuser bloguser --dbtable blogtable


This script expects that:

    * there is no pass needed to connect to the db 
    * that the database schema looks like this:

       Column    |           Type           |                        Modifiers                        
    -------------+--------------------------+---------------------------------------------------------
    id          | integer                  | not null default nextval('items_item_id_seq'::regclass)
    category_id | integer                  | not null
    title       | character varying(250)   | not null
    pub_date    | timestamp with time zone | not null
    entry       | text                     | not null


So this is something to keep in mind if you are planning on using it.

After you import the items you might want to modify the sequence (if you use it).
