TG 51575 Description

Hello Jonathan,

Please revise the description for TG 51575 from:
"PH-Dumaguete Link to YSF and DMR (BM 51575)" to
"PH-Dumaguete Link (Multimode)"

There is interest in bridging it to another DMR talkgtoup on a scheduled basis.

Thank you.

Please correct port information for P25 Reflectors

Good afternoon,

I have found some errors on network ports for P25 reflectors in Romania.

Please make sure they are as follows:
226 on port 41000
2263 on port 41003
2265 on port 41005

Thank you very much,

Question: Default Reflector

I know I can set a Startup reflector in P25Gateway.ini. Is there a way to make this a default reflector.

I would like to have the gateway reconnect to the Startup reflector after a period of inactivity on a different reflector.

For example, let's say Startup is set to 10200. Someone keys up on 10300 and has a conversation. After a period of inactivity (10 minutes), the gateway would reconnect to 10200.

I found InactivityTimeout in the P25Fateway.ini file, but I can't figure out what it does. The only reference I see for it is in Conf.cpp. And, there are no comments about it's intended use.

Thanks in advance,
Michael AF6FB

P25 Reflector Host File Addition

Hi Jonathan
Could you please add the follow new P25 Reflector to the "global" P25Hosts file:

Please add new TG 10444

I’ve created a new P25 talkgroup and was wondering if you would be able to add it to the MMDVM P25 hosts file please?

Details:

TG10444 vk64.chiffers.com 41000

Talk Group IP Change

New Router and Modem was replaced and Public IP was changed for the following talk group:
Virginia
Talk Group 31161
New IP address is:

Parrot TX Audio is chopped

In the latest build - the P25 Parrot appears to receive the audio fine, BUT the TX audio from the parrot is chopped into a small transmissions, the audio is there but garbled too.

Pi-Star Host

how can we go about getting our P25 TG added to Pi-Star Host

Talkgroup ID not honored when there is a connected reflector

If there is a connected reflector and the user keys up on a talkgroup not in P25hosts.txt, the repeater will retransmit the signal on the selected talkgroup and to the connected reflector.

I feel the behavior should be to retransmit the signal, but not send it to the reflector.

For this scenario, I will use the term "repeater", but it could be a hotspot. I'm also using talkgroup 31077 because this is where our reflector is attached. But, any talkgroup with a reflector should work. I'm using talkgroup 2, because it isn't in P25hosts.txt so it does not connect to a different reflector when I key it up.

Duplication Scenario:

  1. Setup radio 1 to monitor talkgroup 31077 on repeater 1
  2. Connect repeater 1 to reflector 31077
  3. Setup radio 2 to monitor talkgroup 31077 on repeater 2
  4. Connect repeater 2 to reflector 31077
  5. Verify the two radios can talk to each other
  6. Setup radio 3 to monitor repeater 2 but be set for talkgroup 2
  7. Key up radio 2

Result:
Radio 1 will hear the traffic and see it on talkgroup 31077
Radio 3 will hear the traffic and see it on talkgroup 2

Expected result:
Radio 3 will hear the traffic and see it on talkgroup 2

I guess you could also test this by simply looking at the reflector dashboard. But, this scenario gives a good example of what we want to do. We would like to hold conversations local to a repeater and not go over the network.

I know we can send a disconnect, but that just adds to the training for our users.

I don't see any obvious setting in the P25Gateway file that looks like what I want to do.

I would be fine the gateway disconnects from the reflector when someone keys up on a talkgroup that isn't associated with a reflector. Or, it could leave the reflector connected and simply not send traffic to the reflector.

THoughts, suggestions?

Thanks in advance,
Michael AF6FB

Questions: P25 Gateway

We are setting up a couple of Pi-Star based repeaters for P25. What happens if the internet connection is lost?

Does the repeater continue to operate in stand-alone mode? For example, retransmitting received signals on the same talkgroup? Or, does it stop repeating?

Is there a "local" talkgroup that is similar to Local/2 on DMR? Specifically, a talkgroup that will re-transmit on the local repeater only. And, does it work without a network connection?

The "InactivityTimeout" setting is not in the P25Gateway.ini file included with the Pi-Star 3.4.17 release. Do you know if the code on that version supports this setting. We would like our repeaters to return to our own reflector when people are done with their conversations.

As a note, we are using the KS-DMR STM32 boards in an MTR2000 repeater, they are equipped with a NanoPi and Pi-Star 3.4.17 is the most recent build for this board. We have run updates, but I don't know what version we need.

We are going to do some testing in this area on Monday, but I was hoping to have a little more info going into the test.

Is there a way to remotely monitor P25Gateway? We will have four repeaters up soon. I would like to create a dashboard for our admins that will show the connected reflector and some last heard data for each repeater.

Thanks in advance,
Michael AF6FB

Add to P25Hosts.txt

Hi,

Can you add my P25Reflector to the master file please?

It's technically a DHCP address, but it hasn't changed in 5 years, plus I intend to move it to the cloud eventually, at which time I'll advise the changes. Thanks.

ps. I hope this is the right place to post this and I apologize if it isn't...

please add TG53099

Could you please add TG53099 to the P25Hosts.txt file, This will link to XLX750 YSF reflector 53099 NXDN Reflector and DMR TG53099. It will mainly be used for New Zealand operators

Location/GPS Passthrough

I searched tickets, but I couldn't find anything about this. Many of the modern P25 radios support sending location information (APX and NX radios specifically).

This seems to work correctly on Motorola P25 repeaters (for both Motorola and Kenwood radios), but not on MMDVM repeaters/hotspots.

Is there a setting that would enable this? Or, am I not setting my radio up correctly? Suggestion?

Thanks in advance,
Michael

New P25 TG

Dear Sir,
Could you please add p25 reflector of the German Pegasus Project in the list for pistar user update ? Info as below. Many Thanks & 73s

Question: Does P25 Reflector support Soft ID?

We have four repeaters running on MMDVM devices. We have been asked by a number of people about support for the Soft ID feature that allows a radio to send both it's ID and a text identifier (call sign).

Is this supported by P25 Reflector (and other components)? Is there anything I need to do to enable it?

Related, do you know if this feature is supported on the Kenwood NX-5000 radios, if so, do they call it something else?

Thanks in advance,
Michael AF6FB

Please add TG4

It is a integral part of a YSF2P25 VW bridge allowing YSF pistar users to experience to true great audio of P25 on YSF, if they could only select this TG 4 for P25, which is missing in the list. It does not interfere with
the P25NX naming scheme, and is in more demand than other already on the list. It is just another entry on the list, why so difficult to add ?

Update PAPA Reflectors

We decided to change our reflector ID so it matches our DMR TG. Also to add a reflector that is not bridged to our analog system.

Please update as follows:

P25Hosts.ini is picky about field delimiters.

I am seeing a issue with the field delimiters in the host file. Below is the host file with TAB delimiters
My P25Gateway.ini is set to startup 10400 for this test.

P25Hosts.txt

I: 2016-10-17 18:35:44.158 Started the DMR Id lookup reload thread

Notice P25Gateway is reporting 5 reflectors. There are 4 in the file and it linked to startup 10400.

I replaced the TABs between the fields for 10400 with spaces

root@mmdvm:/opt/P25Gateway# ./P25Gateway P25Gateway.ini
I: 2016-10-17 18:36:49.323 Opening P25 network connection

I: 2016-10-17 18:36:49.896 Started the DMR Id lookup reload thread

Now reporting 4 reflectors and not connecting at startup to 10400

P25Gateway seems to stop processing if it does not like the delimiter.
