aom-latex-template's Issues

abstract indentation has been removed

the original template has a indentation for abstract content. but now it has been removed

(I opened a new template on overleaf (with old configuration, indentation exists) and paste your .tex file on github, the indentation has gone missing.)

footnote display incorrectly

in a extreme situation, when the section title near the below margin of a Page, it will be put to the next Page, it looks nice.

but the foot note in the same Page will display much higher (i.e., the footnote left too much vertical space below), could you please fix it?

allow multiple plots display in one page

Hi Gorkem,

My paper has 41 pages with your template, while AOM ask for a maximum 40 pages.

I notice that your template puts my plots on different pages even if I set a very small size of them, it looks nice but doesn't space-saving.

I wonder if there is a flexible way to put them on one page (or just cancel the force page break), like what your template does in the appendix part.

long title cannot split into multiple lines.

Thank you for your work! I use your template on overleaf, it helps me a lot.

I notice a tiny problem with the display of title.

in your template, the title appears 3 times:
✅ at the author-information page (the first page)
❌ at the abstract page (the second page)
❌ at the text page (the third page)

a long title at the author-information page can split itself automatically and displays well

however, title at the next two pages can only be displayed in a single line no matter how long.

I have tried to split title manually, but fails.

I hope if you can fix it soon

or could you please offer me a short snippet to help me fix it

caption of tables and figures needs adjustment

according to the sample paper and the published AOM journals, the caption/title of tables and figures should be separated into at least 2 lines and in bold font as below:

TABLE 1
Table Title of Table 1

FIGURE 1
Figure Name of Figure1

while current template use TABLE 1: Table Title of Table 1 and FIGURE 1: Figure Name of Figure 1

citation style needs adjustment

according to author guide:

citation in text with pages should display as (author, year: pages) like (Lee, 1998: 3) while current template produce (Lee, 1988, 3) with \citep[3]{lee1998} (or maybe I should use another command to cite with pages?)

besides, article with only 2 authors should be separated with & (like most AOM journal (eg. AMJ or AMR)) while current version use and. (but the year only citation uses and like Lee and Xavier (1998), this makes me confused.)

as to article with 3 or more authors, the first citation should list all of them and abbreviate with et al at subsequent citation. current template uses et al for all citations.

Endfloat Question

Is there a way I can quickly see what my paper would look like without shunting the figures and tables to the end? I.e., instead of having "Insert table/figure X about here", actually placing the table or figure?

image

I tried commenting out \usepackage[nolists]{endfloat} but that caused issues downstream. I also tried using

\processdelayedfloats
\csname efloat@restorefloats\endcsname

I apologize if this is a dumb question - I'm very new to using Latex. Thank you!
