Version 8.2 is out now for some time. Are you planning to make a release for this version too? It would be nice to have it, as Version 8.1 does not have PHP 7.0.

If you are not planning to release Netbeans Portable 8.2, can you point me in the right direction how could I do a portable version of the official 8.2 release?

I noticed there is no possibility to create a project based on a relative path. Which makes the portable aspect of netbeans-portable really limited.

Is there a workaround or a universal way to solve this ?

Loses the configured netbeans installed.

When you launch the netbeans installed and this portable together, the installed netbeans loses any configuration including the installed plugins.

Do you know a method to solve this problem?

If the drive letter changes between sessions, then Netbeans is unable to open files.
e.g.

• Install Netbeans onto flash drive at letter E:\
• Plug drive into new computer, this time at drive letter F:\
• Open Netbeans
• Attempt to open a project file. The text file window in the IDE will flash momentarily and then force close, with an error in the log.
  Expected behavior:
  text file opens and remains open for editing

Deleting the Cache folder at [PA Drive Letter]:\PortableApps\NetBeansPortable\Data\Cache and then opening the IDE appears to address this issue. If this could be automated, that would be very nice.

I would download the SE version and install PHP and J2EE development plugin, I wonder do the plugin will goes outside the netbeans portable folder (e.g. AppData), because I have an installed version netbeans, but using portable version for testing purpose.
