A Dataset for Fake News on 2023 Israel–Hamas war

This GitHub repository corresponds to the dataset used for our research purpose. The repository contains fact-checked articles and social media posts about the 2023 Israel–Hamas war. The data is extracted through the AMUSED framework. The shared content only contains links to the fact-checked articles. The dataset consists of around 6917 articles from 131 fact-checking websites in 40 languages. Out of which, 3734 fact-checked articles refer to one of the social media claims. The dataset presents the fact-checked articles published from 7th October 2023 to 16th Febuary 2024.

The dataset contains the following attribute
published_date, which refers to the date the article was published
Link is the webpage of the fact-checked articles
news_language is the language of the fact-checked articles. Link to the social media post In the other file, a social media link is provided which consists of a claim.

Use facial recognition to subtract fake reports portraying the same injured/dead people in one incident as people in another incident?

Doing this may differentiate the propaganda from the authentic casualty reports
