xwing's Issues

Categories

Hi,

Thanks for putting all the time to make this awesome tool for us.
One thing that would be awesome is that when you load squads you have tabs for the different formats.
So you have one tab for Standard, Epic and so on.

Thanks in advance and thanks again for making what I think is the best squad builder.

/Mårten

New print layout too big

The new layout when printing takes up way too much room - there is a lot of empty space between each pilot/ship. As such, most squads now span 2 pages whereas they usually fitted on a single page. Please revert to the old layout (or provide an option to do so).

Warning when using unreleased cards

There should be a simple warning when you set up a squad with unreleased cards.

Just to make sure no one accidentally uses something that isn't possible (I've seen this happen at a tournament believe it or not...)

The 99 point setting for some cards is good but other cards go around this when they are revealed (example: the Ion Pulse missiles from the Z-95 and Tie Defender).

vassal vlog parsing

hey, mu0n told me that you tried to crack the vassal vlog format with the purpose of outputting lists to vassal. did you make any progress on that? I'm thinking about writing a program to take vassal saved game logs and stripped out everything but the essentials (ship movements, ship events, and dice rolls)

I'm sozinsky at gmail dot com if you'd like to discuss, cheers

Squadron name wiped after login

Only a minor issue, but I built a squad and named it whilst logged out. I then logged in, the squad remained but the name was reset to 'Unnamed Squadron'.

Add option to print out details of upgrades with fleet

My friends and I play both X-Wing and Star Trek: Attack Wing; I'm the guy with all the X-Wing ships, and my buddy's the one with all the Star Trek ships. Well, he's been using a fleet building app that's not unlike this one; the major difference is that when he prints out a fleet, it has all the upgrades printed out as well. This means that we can get playing as soon as we grab the miniatures, without hunting down all the cards... it's a really nice feature that I don't see anyone doing for X-Wing, yet.

I did see the "Add space for damage/upgrade cards when printing", but I can't figure out for the life of me what it does. I see no visual difference when I print. If that's intended to do this, then great, let's just get that working right. :)

Maneuver table doesn't move down on smaller screens

If you shrink your browser window you can get the maneuver table to spill off the right side of the ship card. At some sizes it's obscured by the edge of the browser. Once you get small enough the card moves down under the ship selectors and it looks ok again. This is probably the ipad problem reported in the FFG forums.

Card typos and missing sources

Reported by SableGryphon:

1st, the test on Frequency Jammer is wrong.

Frequency Jammer
Rebel Transport Expansion Pack

When you perform a jam action, choose 1 enemy ship that does not have a stress token and is not at Range 1 of the jammed ship. The chosen ship receives 1 stress token.

The second 'Not' should be removed.

2nd, the Engine Booster card is incorrectly tagged as being from the Tantive IV expansion and not the Rebel Transport. It certainly comes with the Rebel Transport, though it may well also come with the Tantive IV (I do not know).

Add notes section

Wanted to say you are doing a great job with your builder, keep it up!

Would love to see a comments section, so people can make notes based on games they've played with it.

Give warning on Epic when using more than allowed ships

Rules for Epic play states: "Each player may field a maximum of 12 small ships of a
single type and 6 large ships of a single type."

Builder could give a warning when exceeding this limit.

Note: warning for too many Epic sized ships also an option (the 5 point limit).
