This repo is awesome! Looking at building a google font picker based on this.

Have you given any thought to stitching together the images into a single with css to sprite it out? Looks like it should be simple enough to spin through 'em all and make one big file instead of lots of roundtrips while narrowing through. Or maybe one file per font weight/style to cut down a bit.

Thanks for creating this repo. It's awesome and just started testing it vs loading fonts dynamically (less preferred).

One thing I noticed is even with the last update (7 days) that some font files are either missing or on an older version. Does the library automatically update with the latest or is this manually run?

First off, thank you for this project! It saved me a ton of time. I maintain a list of Google Fonts I like on my site, and wanted to add previews.

One issue I ran into is trying to automate generating the font preview URLs on the frontend. I’d like the latest version of each font, but since they’re all different versions, I settled with requesting v1 on all, which errors on a large percentage which don’t have a v1. It’d be amazing to make a request to an unversioned URL & get the latest one, like this (note the missing last param):

`https://raw.githubusercontent.com/getstencil/GoogleWebFonts-FontFamilyPreviewImages/master/48px/original/${title.split(/\s+/).join('')}-400.png`

If there’s any workarounds I’m missing, would love to implement!

I get a lot of 404 not found errors because a couple of font previews are not updated yet:

Being able to generate them myself would be incredible helpful.
