pyesef's Introduction

Coverage Status

pyesef

A library for extracting XBRL-files in the ESEF-format using the Arelle module.

How to use

  • Download sample archives: python3 -m pyesef -d.

If you don't want to use the downloader, you should place the zip-files in the archives folder of the root folder:

.devcontainer
.github
.vscode
archives
    yourfile.zip
pyesef

Files in the archives folder will be extracted if you run python3 -m pyesef -e. This will create two files: definitions.csv and output.csv.

pyesef's Issues

Using the library

Hello! This library has the potential of being very useful, nicely done!

I am trying to use it but I am stuck. I have XBRL reports in .zip format in an 'archive' folder, but can you provide a bit more details on exactly how we can use the library to export the results? I tried to run it but it seems that it always finds 0 files, even if I place the files in an archives folder.
