@SimonCropp that is what we are doing now, just wondering if the MSBuild task has to be the only place the build server detection is baked into. If it were in the EXE as well then it would remove the need for me to capture and parse the output.

I noticed this, there is a bunch of stuff which is only done in the AssemblyInfoTask.

Normalizing the git directory to create branches/tags is one of them

Normalisation has been done for exe, and #101 will sort the rest of this issue
