The extract.py script allows to define some end-to-end status transitions on the command line for which timings should be extracted. The help text is not up-to-date with the actual option syntax and the readme doesn't mention it whatsoever.

Readme also doesn't mention user defined fields in the extract script.

Right now, all scripts require a running (unauthenticated) mongodb instance on localhost. This should be configurable.

Ideas:

• additional param to the scripts
• env var (+ ~/.netrc for username/password)

Python's csv support does not support encodings. The extract script now breaks on unicode characters in issue data that needs to go into CSVs.

Currently you have to do this manually:

db.datasets.ensureIndex({ name : 1 }, { unique : true })
db.datasets.ensureIndex({ issue_collection : 1 }, { unique : true })

The python scripts share some common code. Right now it's copy-paste reuse. There should be a module (e.g. utils.py) that has the common code and is used by the other scripts.
