Hey there, I've installed this extension, opened my arm template and I've tried running ARM: Start Outliner but I'm getting back this error:

command 'armJsonOutline.openArmOutline' not found

Is there anything I'm missing maybe?

one improvement would be to search for the parameters file based on the template name - e.g. for a template 'myInitialTemplate.json' , search for 'myInitialTemplate.parameters.json'

When selecting ARM Templates, the outline is not populated.

Tried this on about 3 machines now, really think this extension would help me hugely.

The latest vscode build broke the treeview, see: Azure/azure-powershell#4835

If you get the latest insiders build that works - when they release a version of the stable build with the fix in I will update the extension to require that as a base version.

Getting an error when installing extension: Couldn't find a compatible version of Azure ARM Template Helper with this version of Code.

I get a message in the ARM Template Outline that says, "There is no data provider registered that can provide view data."

No errors in the console. VS Code 1.30.2

When I try to display the dependency graph of any ARM template the graph's image is cropped.

I am a PM on the ARM template deployments team at Microsoft.

In September, the Azure Resource Manager Tools extension (azurerm-vscode-tools, repo at https://github.com/microsoft/vscode-azurearmtools) will be updated to introduce a new language server for "ARM" deployment template files. When the extension is installed, deployment templates will automatically be detected via the $schema and the editor language will be set to "arm-deployment" to enable this new language server.

How this affects other extensions that work with deployment templates files
Any extension that wants to have an editing experience for ARM templates should support the "arm-deployment" language ID instead of (if it depends on azurerm-vscode-tools being installed), or in addition to json/jsonc (if it wants to run with or without the azurerm-vscode-tools extension being installed).
