name2chat's Issues

Name2chat not available ingame, while addon is enabled

Describe the bug
Name2Chat is enabled.
Logged into the game, attempt to use /n2c or /name2chat command.
Game reponse is that there is no such command.
When looking into game options -> addons there is no name2chat addon.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Log onto a character
2. Type /n2c or /name2chat

Expected behavior
I expect some sort of Name2Chat interface to pop up.

can't get it to work

I've installed the name2chat addon to my WoW character, but I'm not getting the option in either the GUI interface or the slash commands to actually enter my name to the chat. I've tried the suggestions on the CurseForge addon page, but no luck. I also spoke to a friend, who has used the app for years (it's her that told me about the addon) - she said she knew someone a while ago who had the problem, but can't remember which player it was - or what they did to fix it.
On the GUI, , on the addon tab, the name2chat addon doesn't even show - despite the fact that other addons I've installed before and after, don't have the same issue.

Any help or suggestion of what I might be doing wrong - or how to put whatever the problem is right, would be gratefully received.

I am not pc savvy. how do I clear out searches, queries, etc to fix name2chat? It is mandatory for me to have this program and it DOES NOT WORK! you ask for donations for something that is bugged and broken. I am getting really pissed off so PLEASE do a new version that works. I am not the only one who has the same problem.

Change github release zipfile format - Support for WoWup Addon manager

Would it be possible that you would modify your Zip File releases in such as way that WoWup can be used to install your addon from github? (They have support for synced updates via github url)

Only thing that needs to be changed i think is some folder structure within your zipfile!

"Basically just requires a zip with a directory in it named the same as the toc, with the addon in that directory, as you would have it in the Addons directory in your client."

If not, its also an option to release the addon on wago addons, they have support for the WoWup client by default, but still provide ad revenue.

Won't load after addon reinstall

Describe the bug
I wiped my interface,wtf, and cache folders for a clean slate for Dragonflight. Now after reinstalling N2C, it won't load into the addon list or come up by the n2c/name2chat command. Tried a few different versions from Curseforge and even installed the latest directly from github...even copy pasted the backed up copy of the addon from before the wipe.

Additional context
I did try enabling install libs separately and that didn't resolve the issue.

addon breaks !wb and !<itemlink> notation in chat

When Name2Chat is disabled, !wb (world buffs report) and ! (Auctioneer price check) work as expected. When the addon is enabled, neither work.

feature request: Ability to add name (or other identifier) to battle.net whispers

For those of us who have multiple WoW accounts under the same battle.net account, it would be nice to have an option to identify which WoW account is whispering, to help clear up confusion for recipients.

Bug on login

This is on login. None of the commands are working. /name2chat and /n2c do not work. The mod does not show up in the interface options either.

Conflict with the Greenwall addon

Mod somehow interferes with the addon Greenwall (https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/greenwall) Something about modifying channel 5.

I'm not sure if it's your addon or theirs.

Can't type in chat

When Name2chat is on in addons you can't type in chatt, if you turn it off it works again, i do like it so i want it to work.

Please add functionality for communities.

Hi there. I love the addon. As is above in the title, I've been trying to use the custom channel option for communities but I can't seem to get it to work. Please add the functionality, or let me know what I'm doing wrong :}

For some reason since the 15th when WOW released the beta or whatever this is, my name2chat crashes. Here is a copy of what it is doing -

There is nothing to do - It simply shows the error above every time I log in and it doesn't work

I should also note that i have uninstalled it and reinstalled it with curseforge and manually. I have also recreated the retail/interface, cache and wtf directories. Lastly, I have tried it without any other addon and nothing makes a difference.

Extra space after parenthesis in 10.0 version

Describe the bug
An extra space is added after the parenthesis.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Configure a name / channels
2. Type in one of those channels
3. See Character: (Name) : message

Expected behavior
Character: (Name): message
