Package compiler provides types and interfaces for interacting with or implementing a compiler for the GraphQL IDL.

Import Tree Reduction

GraphQL documents can import one another with the following directive:

directive @import(paths: [String]!) on DOCUMENT

Type Validation

Type Validation/Checking is provided by implementing the TypeChecker interface. The Validate function is a TypeChecker that enforces type validation, per the GraphQL spec.

Type Merging

Type merging handles merging type extensions with their original type definition.

Migrate to Github Actions

Refactor import resolution to use new IR

Use depth first when resolving imports

Switch from breadth-first to depth-first in order to simplify import resolution. TypeDecls can also be marked with a flag indicating if their import chain has already been imported to the root doc.

Add import directive to compiler types

This will make sure that uses of the import directives can be validated.

Refactor merge extensions to use new IR

Validation should support a set of documents
