The well known choice would be: https://disqus.com/. I'm looking for a solution that is basically that, but in a free (libre not gratis) version with data owned by the project.
There's a nice project: https://github.com/posativ/isso/ which I would host myself. However, it has no authentication, and I don't like that. There's a promising issue though: isso-comments/isso#240 I might support that effort. I could host this with no additional costs for me.
Another good one is https://www.discourse.org/. But that may be as well overkill. It looks to large for my taste to self host and babysit: 1 GB Docker image ... I'd need to get a dedicated server for that. The SAAS plan starts at USD 100 per month https://payments.discourse.org/buy/ which is currently not an option because Atem has no funds yet. Also, it probably wouldn't be hosted in Europe, I'm not sure if that's a problem. Self hosted ~ 10 bucks a month for a VM server instance would probably suffice and would be OK for me.
pixls.us uses discourse https://discuss.pixls.us and it's going well for them.
Per metapolator/metapolator#725 (comment) Atem should have tests at some point
I just pushed a website to gh-pages which is public here: http://atem.graphicore.de
@davelab6 (or anyone) do you have time and interest to review this before we publicly announce it?
There will be a travis task to automatically update the site when we push to master in this repository, but that's not the case yet.
For testing/viewing changes see https://github.com/graphicore/Atem-Webgenerator which is pretty straight forward to use.
#4 is still open, so the logo in use is just temporary
Update: The travis continious integration build is up an running.
I started this on g+:

with valuable feedback of @EbenSorkin

and this valubale feedback by @davelab6:
I don't like the little wedge triangle on the left side by the pin, its too fussy, better to have the curved ruler part just join the left stem and align with the screw-pin :)
The M's flat sides get effected by the circular transformation in a bad way, better to have them be angled like normal so that they become flat(ter) in the transform.
The x strokes cross too low, especially next to that tall P and R
D should be wider
