Install Steps

cp -r etc/iptables /etc/iptables
cp -r etc/systemd/system/iptables.service /etc/systemd/system/
cp -r etc/systemd/system/ip6tables.service /etc/systemd/system/

systemctl daemon-reload

systemctl enable iptables.service
systemctl enable ip6tables.service

systemctl start iptables.service
systemctl start ip6tables.service

systemd-iptables's Issues

use network-pre.target

You may want to add the following to your [Unit] section:

Before=network-pre.target
Wants=network-pre.target

I happened upon this project after searching for "iptables systemd unit" to verifiy of the answer given in my SO question below. Thought it would be worth sharing for the benefit of future folks who find their way here.
