gnome-public-ip-extension's Issues
Giving error 3.36.3
While installing it via gnome extensions it shows an error on the page. Please do you have any solution for this? i have also restarted the shell after installing the extension.
Use dig and opendns to retrieve IP instead
I find using dig +short myip.opendns.com @resolver1.opendns.com
makes me feel a little more secure. This is just a suggestion.
Please add machine IP address
Please add the current machine IP address hostname -I
(in addition to the existing external IP address).
Support GNOME 3.18
Why not use STUN protocol with which you can make unlimited requests
There are many STUN protocol IP displayers which display IP in CLI.
You could use one of those and then display the IP.
I think with STUN, you can unlimited requests.
No more rate limiting
https-Support & replace google maps with osm
Hello,
I replaced the http-Urls in my extension.js with https and it seems to work. Therefore it might be possible to support https for everyone. This should be available for all users.
Show IPv6 and IPv4
Hello,
Nice extension, but coud you please add a line for IPv4?
If i also have an external IPv6, only the IPv6 is displayed.
Extension shows contents of WiFi landing page
Great extension, I find it very useful.
When connected to a WiFi network that hijacks DNS (ie, redirects to a landing page) this extension takes over then entire panel in an attempt to display the contents of the page, rendering other functions inaccessible.
Possible solutions:
- verification that you are displaying content from the intended page in the panel and not from a page that has hijacked DNS, and/or
- Limit the amount of space the extension can use on the panel. An IP address takes up a finite amount of space and a max width might be useful.
Change the default flag (disconnected status) to a neutral one
Very nice extension, thanks.
However, no offense, but I feel unconfortable to see a U.S flag all the time I am disconnected.
Like many users, I am not a user citizen.
It would be nicer to use a neutral flag (U.N., question mark, etc.).
Support GNOME 3.20
Hi,
I really love your extension! It would be great, if could continue using it with GNOME 3.20!
Thank you!
