Windows vs Linux

According to https://github.com/citizenfx/fivem-docs/blob/51ebdeee7eee6be819c8d673eed804e8c36ef080/content/docs/server-manual/setting-up-a-server-vanilla.md?plain=1#L37-L39 there's large issues with running FiveM on any linux distro.

I'm getting conflicting responses as a whole with the community. So any thoughts about having Terraform support a windows server deployment?

I much prefer Linux/Containerization, but if Windows is more stable windows is more stable ¯_(ツ)_/¯.

I'm pretty nooby with terriform so I'm curious what your thoughts are before attempting to dive into this. What are potential roadblocks with a terriform/ansible deployment on Windows of FiveM?

Create independent pipelines to testing and deployment

Specifications

  • Deployment should depend on testing results, that should not change
  • The idea is to provide the possibility of unit and E2E testing of the repository and its terraform charts capabilities without having to rely on mocking clients to test the infrastructure, for example. It should not depend on deploying in a live server to test wether the chart should work or not.
