maniadminplugin's Issues

Unbanning from menu doesn't remove the ban from the server RAM, the player stays banned, although he doesn't show up in the Mani menu anymore

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Join your server with a buddy
2.Ban the buddy via the Mani Menu
3.Unban him via the menu and ask him to rejoin

What is the expected output?
The person that got unbanned via the menu should be able to rejoin the server

What do you see instead?
The person is still banned

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
M-A-P V.1.2 Beta T Rc 2.4 on Windows Server 2008 (SRCDS)

Please provide any additional information below.

It works upon using ma_unban <SteamID>. So only the menu is affected. It
might be related to the fact, that the ban is still stored in the server
RAM, while it's definitiately erased (checked it) from the banlist.txt upon
using the Unban Menu Function. Also, i'm not sure wether it might be a
problem because the default .cfg files (banned_user.cfg & banned_ip.cfg)
don't wirte down the ban until writeid / writeip got executed, but instead
just save the ban in the RAM until forced to write it into the .cfg files.
Since most gameserver execute writeid / writeip upon mapchange via the
server.cfg, we should check those as well. Maybe the menu should use the
same method as ma_unban and make use of removeid / removeip build in commands?

mani_server.cfg missing option to toggle Sounds Behaviour

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Download Mani Admin Plugin V.1.2 Beta T RC2
2.Open the mani_server.cfg

What is the expected output?
There should be a trigger to change the way sounds do work (using play or
playgamesounds)

What do you see instead?
No mani_play_sound_type 0 / 1 sound trigger

What version of the product are you using?
Mani Admin Plugin V.1.2 Beta T Rc2

autokick_pname not checking the name on client connect

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Install MAP 1.2 Beta T Rc2.2
2.Create a autokick_pname.txt in the /cfg/mani_admin_plugin folder
3.Add "yourname" k into the autokick_pname.txt
4.Connect to your server using the name in the autokick_pname.txt

What is the expected output?
The user connecting with a name contained in the autokick_pname should get
kicked (k) or banned (b) instantly upon connecting, based on the specific
action.

What do you see instead?
The user can play with the name that is in the autokick_pname.txt if he
joines with it from begin with.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Mani 1.2T Rc2.2 on Win7

Please provide any additional information below.
If you change your name ingame from "test" to a name that is protected by
the autokick_pname.txt, the correct action ((k)ick or (b)an the user) takes
place. We should add a blank autokick_pname.txt to the download anyway, to
prevent problems with systems not allowing the user to create new .txt
files automaticly due to insufficent user rights.

Time based mute option in the menu

Enter a description of the task along with a link to the discussion on the
forum if it exists.

You didn't think i would forget about the mute menu, did you? :- )

There should be a time option for muting, similiar to the ban menu, since
always perm mute is quiet a hard joice.

Info description from new command flooding protection is inprecisly

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Download MAP 1.2 T Rc.2.2
2.Have a look at Module 34: Command Flooding Control
3.// Sets the number of commands that can be executed during the
mani_command_flood_time
// (3 is a good value to use )
mani_command_flood_total 14

What is the expected output?
A good value to use would be 14, as it still allows players using
buyscripts to not be affected by command spamming, while real spammers
still get caught.

What do you see instead?
A value of 3, which will force all autobuy scripts being considered as
"command spamming", which, well, they are, but still, they're necessary.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
MAP 1.2 T Rc2.2 on Win7

Please provide any additional information below.
A good value to use would be 14, as it still allows players using
buyscripts to not be affected by command spamming, while real spammers
still get caught. Stil, could be a too high value on servers with a lot of
slots.

To really get the bad guys out prior to harming the server, and especially,
since the chat gets flooded with "This server is command spamming
protected!!!", which can also be some sort of "soft harming", maybe a kick
/ autoban for x minutes switch should be added to finish this thing :- )

Also, as we do have a chat spam control module already build in, maybe
command & chat spam should be "combined" in one module in the
mani_server.cfg, since they're designed for the same goal? Not sure about
that one, though. Stil, a kick / autoban for x minutes switch would be a
good thing to auto get rid of players still exploiting the command floodings.

Link to forum topic:
http://www.mani-admin-plugin.com/forums/index.php?topic=20695.0

Original issue reported on code.google.com by [email protected] on 15 Nov 2009 at 11:23

Command spammers can't be punished, no name notice

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Install Map and turn set mani_command_flood_time 1 in Module 34
2.Join the server
3.Execute a lagscript, like:
alias aspam
"nextmap;nextmap;nextmap;nextmap;nextmap;nextmap;nextmap;timeleft;timeleft;timel
eft"
alias bspam "aspam;aspam;aspam;aspam;aspam"
bind f "bspam; bspam; bspam"

What is the expected output?
There should either be a name being displayed who tries to flood, since it
doesn't get shown in the ingame console nor in the chat, and an autokick /
autoban feature for x attemps in y seconds, because flooding is still
slightly possible if no further actions can be taken

What do you see instead?
The chat window getting spammed with the "This server is protected" message.

Please use labels and text to provide additional information.
This is NOT a bug report, of course. The module is working as it is
supposed to be working. Stil, it's not quiet effectiv enough, since you can
stil cause minor spam lags and make the chat unuseable.

This is more like a feature enhancement in order to set up an effective
command spam protection :- )

sv_password not working anymore

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Install Mani Admin Plugin
2.Set sv_password 123 in your server.cfg / listenserver.cfg
3.Delete the clients.txt
4.Restart the server

What is the expected output?
There should be a golden "locked" symbol in front of the server, upon
clicking on the server in the server browser, it should prompt for the
server password if i'm no admin and the server isn't in war mode.

What do you see instead?
The lock symbol doesn't appear, i can doubleklick and join just as there
would be no PW, although i'm no admin and the pw is set.

What version of the product are you using?
Mani Admin Plugin V1.2 Beta T RC2

On what operating system?
Windows 7, tested on Steam Dedicated Server Tool

Please provide any additional information below.
Since there was a feature added to let admins having the basic "admin" flag
join the server without the pw as long as it isn't set to ma_war 1, i guess
this feature now allows ALL players to join a sv_password protected server
without the PW

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Download Mani Admin Plugin 1.2 Beta T Rc2
2.Extract it and open the /cfg/ folder

What is the expected output?

Upon notice, I did remove the file and reuploaded the .zips afterwards, so
this "problem" isn't existing anymore in the current downloads of Mani

file added again in further releases, as it's user confusing.

2.Set the following in your mani_server.cfg:
//
*****************************************************************************

2.Create a lagconfig.cfg in your /cfg of your gamemod

Autoban by name via the menu doesn't write anything to the .txt files like it's supposed to (doing nothing)

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Install M-A-P
2.Connect to your server
3.Player Managment -> Ban -> Autoban by name

What is the expected output?
The specified user name should get written down in a .txt file
(autokick_name.txt, i assume) with Hisname b

What do you see instead?
Nothing happens, the menu just closes itself without anything being written
to the .txt files

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
M-A-P V.1.2 Beta T Rc.2.3 on Win7

Please provide any additional information below.
We should provide the autoick / autoban .txt files in the standard
download, to make sure they bans get written down to prevent insufficent
user rights for creating files problems. Maybe in conjunction with the
autokick_steam problem.

// 5 configs that can be run on start of map load
// mani_exec_default_file1 defaults is set to mani_server.cfg
// mani_exec_default_file2 defaults is set to ./mani_admin_plugin/defaults.cfg
mani_exec_default_file1 "mani_server.cfg"
mani_exec_default_file2 "mani_weapon_restrict2.cfg"
mani_exec_default_file3 "./mani_admin_plugin/mani_weapon_restrict3.cfg"
mani_exec_default_file4 "./mani_admin_plugin/mani_weapon_restrict4.cfg"
mani_exec_default_file5 "./mani_admin_plugin/mani_weapon_restrict5.cfg"

echo *****mani_weapon_restrict2.cfg has been executed*****
4. Create a mani_weapon_restrict3.cfg in your/cfg/mani_admin_plugin folderw
with
echo *****mani_weapon_restrict3.cfg has been executed*****
5. Start your server and check your log files for the echo commands

What is the expected output?
The log files / server console should echo the say command

What do you see instead?
Nothing hanppens, the .cfg files don't get called

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
M-A-P 1.2 T Rc 2.4 on Win7

Please provide any additional information below.
Per default, a defaults.cfg to be executed is written down in the
mani_server.cfg, this file gets called even if it gets removed from of the
mani_server.cfg, so i guess it's hardcoded, but if you add any other
configs, it doesn't work. Although, the first call, to the mani_servr.cfg
is working fine. Maybe something needs to be uncommented in the source code?

Mani doesn't scan for already existing .vdf's if loaded via MM:S

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Manually create a mani_admin_plugin.vdf in the /addons/metamod folder
2.Check your metaplugins.ini for being blank
3.Start your server and use meta load <pluginpath for Mani>

What is the expected output?
Mani should check that it's already loaded and refuse to be autoloaded
twice, it should only be possible to force it twice via manually createing
the entries

What do you see instead?
Every command gets executed twice, since Mani gets loaded twice

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Please provide any additional information below.
Mani should check the metaplugins.ini for an entry, should check wether
it's already loaded as VSP in the /addons folder and if a .vdf is present
in /addons/metamod, prior to creating a new one

Skins managment in mani_server.cfg making no sense

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Download M-A-P 1.2T Rc 2.4
2.Check Module 21 - Custom Skin Control

What is the expected output?
The entire skin managment should be moved to the seperated skins download
folders, like it's done with the mani_quake_sounds.cfg

What do you see instead?
The custom skins settings can be configured, although the skin files are
moved to a seperate download and have nothing to do anymore with the
standard plain M-A-P download

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
M-A-P 1.2 T Rc.2.4 on Win7

Please provide any additional information below.
Well, i wanted to still report it, although i guess it's nothing to
important to fix. Stil, the skins are a seperated download, so their
configuration should be done in a seperated file. It makes no sense that
they are in the mani_server.cfg if the skin files aren't in the standard
M-A-P download anymore. Also, stil, nothing fancy, though :- )
