bash-track-test-generator's Issues

Reworking this tool

Update: I will be reworking this in my spare time.

  • there is some undefined behavior
  • it could have some nicer features added
  • I haven't decided if it will stay in Ruby.

Ruby or golang?

I love Ruby, and it is very easy to read. I don't, however, find ERB very inspiring.

The Ruby track has a much better developed test suite that mostly leaves the template out of writing generators. I think their approach is very nice.

I don't plan on implementing a generator framework of the same scale. I think that golang templates are much better than ERB.

As my go skills continue to improve, I think it is an excellent candidate for rewriting this tool.

If I do rewrite this tool in go, then I will rename it, and I will link to the new repo from this one until it is longer prudent.

Thank you all,

Guy Gastineau

Branch: new-version

I have reinvisioned this project to work from this repo without inclusion into the exercism/bash repo.

The branch new-version is the start. I will probably merge it later today.

This new version is sort of in infancy ATM, but I will fill it out. I don't think I will be using the bash wrapper anymore as it isn't for inclusion in the track repo.
