layouts-service's Issues

Maximised window border incomplete / partially missing.

Scott Logic have developed an application called Stockflux that uses the OpenFin HTML5 container. We're currently carryout work on this application to improve and update it and have noticed some issues we believe may be Openfin issues.

When maximising a window by dragging the toolbar to the top of the screen, once the window docks to the entire screen, a thick white border appears around the edge of the screen. However this border is missing or incomplete at certain parts of the screen.

To replicate:

  • Drag the window to the top of the screen in order to maximise the window.
  • Once the window is docked to the entire screen, an incomplete thick white border appears.

Expected behaviour:

  • We would expect the thick white border to fully surround the entire edge of the screen.

Operating System => Windows 10
Openfin-layouts => 0.9.3
Node => v11.4.0 (also occurred on 11.3.0)
OpenFin Runtime => 9.61.36.36

This issue may be linked to issue #203 opened by Scott Logic as well. Can you confirm if these issues are indeed a defect in the latest Openfin layout? Thanks.

Access undock() POCO javascript

Hi guys. I was checking out the demo app and trying my hand at creating my own.

Say I wanted to create a simple windows using fin.desktop.Window to instantiate new one with simply HTML and JS. How would I get to the undock command from there? Can I do it through the fin object somehow?

Thanks
Ernie

Window-Snap drop shadow hidden underneath other applications

When dragging an openfin window to snap to / group with another, a drop-shadow indicates where the dragged window will be docked against the other.

If there is another (non-OpenFin) application open on the desktop, this drop-shadow appears underneath that application window, which may result in the drop-shadow being completely hidden if the application window is larger than the drop-shadow. I would expect the drop-shadow to appear beneath the OpenFin window being dragged, but above all others on the desktop.

In the image below, a large-sized OpenFin window on the left is being dragged to dock against a smaller OpenFin window on the right. There is a Notepad++ application window visible beneath. The snap shadow that shows where the dragged window will dock is beneath the Notepad++ window.

Window remains transparent when dragged to top of screen.

Scott Logic have developed an application called Stockflux that uses the OpenFin HTML5 container. We're currently carryout work on this application to improve and update it and have noticed some issues we believe may be Openfin issues.

When you drag a window (by the toolbar) to the top of the screen in order to maximise it, the window maximises / docks to the full screen however it remains transparent.

To replicate:

  • Drag a window by the taskbar to the top of the screen (as if you were maximising it in your display).
  • The dragging process on a window changes the opacity of the window and the window becomes transparent (as expected).
  • When the window is maximised at the top of the screen and the taskbar is released, the window remains transparent.

Expected behaviour:

  • We would expect the window to revert to normal opacity once it is maximised at the top of the screen and the taskbar is released.
