gvmynumber's Issues

Requesting support for "PIN required"

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Enable PIN required on Google Voice account (Settings -> <select phone
number> -> Enable Advanced Settings -> Voicemail Access -> Yes -> PIN required)
2. Try to make a call from your phone using Google Voice and this app
3. Fail

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
This is the expected behavior. I'm asking for an enhancement :)

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Version 1.0 on Nexus One

Please provide any additional information below.
By allowing the user to provide the PIN, GVMyNumber could support call out
and not require the user to disable PIN required, thus increasing security
on the Google Voice account.

phone numbers with repeating digits not working

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. A number like 557-755-0078 (example only)

Note the multiple repeating digits?

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I would expect it to dial the number. It sound like it is dialing too fast.
The repeating numbers are merged together and the server can not recognise them
as seperate tones

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Android OS 2.2 on a motorola droid

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Instead of dialing number after choosing Google Voice to dial, the GV dialing
mode menu endlessly loops.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Jan 2010 release

Please provide any additional information below.

Calls last v-mail message back instead of number dialed.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Have unheard v-mail in google voice inbox.
2. Call anyone.
3. As gvmynumber dials, pauses, etc, google voice starts playing v-mail.
4. Whatever keystrokes are auto-entered by gvmynumber, they cause google voice
to call the number that left the v-mail, regardless of what number you intended
to dial.

What is the expected output?
The number I punched in should be diald.

What do you see instead?
The number that was dialed was the 1st v-mail message being played during the auto-dial sequence from gvmynumber.

What version of the product are you using?
   v1.0

On what operating system?
   Android 2.1

Please provide any additional information below.

Numbers not dialed when proximity sensor engaged.

Use GVMyNumber to place a call, and immediately put the phone up to your head.

Numbers will not be dialed beyond the initial GV call.

This is due to a reported bug in Android:
http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=5549

Workaround:
Don't put the phone up to your head until after the supplemental numbers
start dialing.

Outgoing tone sequence dialed too quickly in some cases

-Reported by some users: After connection to Google Voice system, tones dialed
after ,2, are dialed too quickly resulting in periodic failure of GV system to
properly recognize number.

-Including an option to change dialing speed may resolve the problem

-Using January 8 release on Froyo 2.2.

Google has updated procedures for making a call using GV.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Current GVMynumber procedures
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Establish a call. The new Google procedures force the call to end after
current GVMynumber procedures are executed.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Version 1.0

Please provide any additional information below.

Google has updated its dial procedures for calls made used via Google Voice.
In addition to entering your pin (1234), then option 2 to enter your google
voicemail, you must now select option 2 again in order to make a call using
Google Voice. Any chance this can be updated so that the following applies?

Pin# + option 2 (voicemail) + option 2 (place a call)

Google added PIN and then #

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Using GVMyNumber
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Should get into my google number and dial the number but because GVMyNumber
does not recognize the pound symbol (#) it cannot access voicemail

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Latest

Please provide any additional information below.

Please add the Pound (#) after PIN or allow the use of the pound (#) symbol in
the application. So I should be able to enter 1234# into GVMyNumber and it
should send 1234# to the phone app to log into my voicemail.

Thank you,

W

PIN displays in dialing screen

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Normal use
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead? I would expect to see PIN
blanked or ****, instead the PIN is displayed with the GV number making it too
easy for a casual observer to steal.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? GV 1.0 on
Android 2.1.

Please provide any additional information below.

Does not dial fast enough

When I dial a number, my phone connects immediately to my GV.

Then I have to wait 2 seconds for it to press 2, then another 2 seconds before
it dials the number.

It would be nice if there were an option to make it immediate or as close to
immediate as you can get.

Instructions lack detailed explanation

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Reading the current instructions.
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I would like to know what is meant by "This free application makes it dial
your own number."? Does this mean it dials my carrier (Sprint) cell phone
number? If so, then what is the benefit of having a Google Voice number?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Version of GV? 0.3.0 on Android 1.5 (Sprint HTC Hero).

Please provide any additional information below.

Latest Google Voice Update Breaks GVMyNumber

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install Google Voice Update
2. Launch Google Voice
3. Launch GvMyNumber, verify settings
4. Try to make a call using Google Voice
5. Nothing happens, GVMyNumber never initiates the call

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I would expect GVMyNumber to call my GV Number and dial the correct numbers.
Nothing.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Android 2.3.3 on Droid X. Google Voice 0.4.2.34. Latest GVMyNumber.

Please provide any additional information below.

I uninstalled Google Voice, Uninstalled GVMyNumber, Reinstalled Google Voice,
Verified Functionality, Reinstalled and configured GVMy Number and it Worked!

Why would this update to Google Voice cause this? Can an update to GVMyNumber
prevent this from happening in the future?

Thank you,

W.
