While _.isEqual does do a deep compare of objects, the _.clone(doc) call does not create a deep copy. So nested objects/arrays in the original document end up getting shared with the document that is edited (and thus never "changed" between the selfsame versions referenced by the two document copies).

When updating documents that belongs to a dabase that has a validation function it will not show if the insert of the changed document is accepted or not.

It should detect if the insertion of the changed document really succeed or not, and tell the user if it does not.
